Onion Soup Chicken Bake

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This initial step is crucial for ensuring even cooking and that your Chicken Bake turns out tender and delicious.

  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter. This simple act of greasing your dish will help prevent sticking, making for an easier cleanup and a more satisfying meal.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, Minute rice, and one can of water. Mix well until everything is nicely combined. The mixture should be creamy and smooth, a tremendous base for the chicken.

  4. Pour the rice mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. This even layer will soak up all the flavors during the baking process.

  5. Arrange the chicken breasts on top of the rice mixture in a single layer. The chicken should lay flat, ensuring it cooks evenly and absorbs the surrounding flavors.

  6. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the chicken breasts. This is where the dish gets its characteristic flavor, a tremendous burst of oniony goodness that will permeate the entire bake.

  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. This helps trap steam inside, keeping the chicken moist and preventing it from drying out during baking.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). The waiting can feel tremendous, but the aromas that begin to fill your home are a delightful preview of the meal to come.

  9. Remove the foil and let it sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the dish to set. This resting period is key, allowing the flavors to marry beautifully and making your meal even more enjoyable.
