Chocolate Cheesecake

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 325°F (160°C). This is a crucial step, as a properly heated oven ensures that your cheesecake bakes evenly.

  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Whisk these dry ingredients together until they are evenly blended.

  3. Beat Cream Cheese: In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer at medium speed until it becomes smooth and creamy. This step is important, as a well-blended cream cheese forms the foundation for your cheesecake’s texture.

  4. Add Wet Ingredients: Now, add the sour cream, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix these ingredients until everything is well combined. The tremendous combination of chocolate and creaminess will make your kitchen smell delightful!

  5. Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. It’s best to do this in parts, mixing well in between each addition until there are no dry lumps. The batter should be luxurious and smooth.

  6. Prepare Springform Pan: Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter or non-stick spray. This will help ensure that your cheesecake can be easily released after baking without losing any of its beautiful shape.

  7. Pour Batter: Carefully pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula for an even finish.

  8. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly. This unique baking method helps create the ideal texture.

  9. Cool: Once baked, remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. It’s important to let it cool slowly to prevent cracks from forming in your masterpiece.
