This is not your average fried rice 👀

Ingredients

To create this not-so-average fried rice, we shall divide our ingredients into two main categories, focusing on enhancing both the base and the filling.

The Base

  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice (preferably day-old for perfect texture)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (adds depth of flavor)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil (for aroma)

The Filling

  • 1 cup cooked chicken, diced (or your choice of protein like shrimp or tofu)
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (for convenience and color)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 green onions, chopped (both white and green parts)
  • Optional: 1 small bell pepper, diced (adds sweetness and crunch)
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish
