Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake Rolls

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix to combine the dry ingredients evenly. Heat the milk and melted butter until warm, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix everything to form a dough and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. The dough should feel good in your hands and have a tremendous texture.

  2. Once mixed, let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. This step is crucial for achieving that delightful, fluffy roll.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This filling is where the cheesecake goodness comes to life.

  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the dough, leaving a little space around the edges. Layer with sliced strawberries and drizzle with lemon juice for that added zing.

  5. Carefully roll the dough tightly, starting from one of the longer sides. Make sure it’s snug but not so tight that the filling oozes out. Once rolled up, cut the dough into equal rolls, about 1 to 1½ inches thick.

  6. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, making sure they’re close but not touching. Let them rise for another 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.

  7. While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them for about 25-30 minutes until they’re golden brown and cooked through. The aroma will be nothing short of tremendous!

  8. Serve these delectable rolls warm, or let them cool to room temperature. Either way, they are a joy to eat!
