Creating Smashburger Quesadillas is straightforward and immensely rewarding. Follow these steps to achieve that crispy perfection:

  1. Prepare Your Skillet: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Allow it to get nice and hot for a tremendous sear.

  2. Season Your Beef: In a bowl, season your ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Mix it well to ensure the flavors meld together beautifully.

  3. Prep the Tortillas: Take a large tortilla for each quesadilla. These will form the base, holding all the amazing flavors.

  4. Add the Beef: Press a small handful of seasoned ground beef directly onto one half of each tortilla. Make sure to spread it evenly to achieve a uniform filling.

  5. Cook the Beef: Place the tortillas with the beef side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 2–3 minutes. You want the beef to be browned and perfectly cooked but not overdone.

  6. Cheese It Up: After flipping the tortilla to cook the other side, sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top of the cooked ground beef. The tremendous melt of the cheese will enhance the flavors immensely.

  7. Fold and Grill: Carefully fold the tortilla in half to cover the cheese and beef filling. Grill both sides until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melty. This usually takes about 3-4 minutes on each side.

  8. Slice and Serve: Once you achieve a golden-brown color, remove the quesadilla from the skillet. Slice it into triangles and serve hot with optional pickles, diced onions, and your favorite burger sauce on the side.
