Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast

Directions

  1. Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker. Position your beautifully marbled chuck roast right in the center of your slow cooker. This cut of meat will become juicy and tender over the long cooking process.

  2. Scatter the pepperoncini and the juice from the jar over the roast. The pepperoncini not only adds a bright flavor but also infuses the meat with moisture, ensuring a fantastic blend of tanginess and spice.

  3. Add the butter cut into pieces on top of the roast. Strategically placing the butter on top will allow it to melt into the meat, creating a luscious sauce and adding richness to every bite.

  4. Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix and buttermilk ranch dressing mix over the roast. These mixes are key to building the tremendous flavor profile, so make sure to spread them evenly across the meat.

  5. Season with freshly ground black pepper. While the other ingredients provide a robust base, the black pepper adds the necessary warmth, enveloping the dish in a comforting heat.

  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the meat is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork. This slow cooking process will enable the flavors to develop fully. When it’s done, the roast should easily pull apart, showcasing its perfectly cooked texture.
