Directions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is incorporated. This sauce is the secret to achieving that tremendous glaze.
-
Take each chicken breast and carefully wrap it with a slice of bacon. Make sure the bacon is fully encasing the chicken for maximum flavor and texture. Place the wrapped chicken breasts into the slow cooker, snugly fitting them side by side.
-
Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker. Ensure that the sauce seeps into all gaps, coating each piece generously. The sweetness of the sauce will perfectly complement the salty bacon, creating a tremendous combination.
-
Cover the slow cooker with the lid. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours. The chicken should be tender and fully cooked, absorbing all the flavors from the sauce and bacon. Make sure to check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 165°F (75°C).
-
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve the bacon-wrapped chicken with the luscious glaze drizzled over it. Pair it with rice or noodles, and garnish with chopped green onions for an added touch of color and freshness.
