Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry in Garlic Sauce

Directions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp
Begin your journey by marinating the shrimp. In a bowl, sprinkle the 1/4 teaspoon of salt over the shrimp and let it sit for about 15 minutes. This slight salt will enhance their natural sweetness and create a tremendous flavor base.

  2. Heat the Pan
Grab a large skillet or wok and heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to shimmer slightly; this heating will lay the foundation for a tremendous stir-fry.

  3. Cook the Shrimp
Once the oil is ready, carefully add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook them for about 2-3 minutes until they turn a delightful pink color. Once cooked, remove them from the pan and set them aside. This careful step ensures the shrimp are tender and juicy, avoiding overcooking.

  4. Sauté Aromatics
In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté these flavorful ingredients for around 30 seconds. The tremendous aroma that fills your kitchen is simply irresistible and will have everyone’s mouths watering.

  5. Add Broccoli
Now, it’s time to add the stars of this dish: the broccoli florets. Stir-fry them for 4-5 minutes until they reach a tender-crisp texture. This quick cooking keeps the broccoli vibrant and crunchy, resulting in a delightful contrast.

  6. Prepare the Sauce
While stirring, mix the soy sauce, cornstarch, and water in a small bowl until smooth. Once combined, pour this mixture into the pan. The cornstarch will help thicken the sauce, creating a tremendous coating for the shrimp and broccoli.

  7. Return Shrimp to the Pan
After pouring in the sauce, return the cooked shrimp to the pan. Give everything a gentle toss until the shrimp and broccoli are well coated, and the sauce thickens beautifully. This step ensures every bite is bursting with flavor.

  8. Serve Hot
Serve your culinary masterpiece hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired. This perfect finishing touch adds a nutty crunch that elevates the dish even further.
