Red Velvet Brownies

Ingredients

The Base

  • 3/4 stick (85 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (55 g) light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup (90 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 3/4 cup (130 g) white chocolate chips (optional)

The Frosting

  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 stick (85 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
