Quick and Easy Quesadillas

Directions

  1. Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat. Ensure the skillet is hot enough to provide a tremendous sear on the tortilla when it touches the surface.
  2. Place a tortilla in the skillet, allowing it to warm slightly. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over half of the tortilla, ensuring it is evenly spread for optimal melting.
  3. If you desire to add any optional ingredients – like cooked chicken, beef, or vegetables – layer them on top of the cheese. This step is crucial as it adds tremendous flavor and texture to your quesadilla.
  4. Carefully fold the tortilla over to create a half-moon shape. Press down gently to help seal in the cheese and filling as it starts to melt.
  5. Cook the quesadilla for 2-3 minutes. You want the bottom to turn golden brown and the cheese inside to be melting into a gooey delight.
  6. Using a spatula, flip the quesadilla and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes until it becomes golden and crisp.
  7. Once cooked, remove the quesadilla from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, cut it into wedges or slices for easy handling.
  8. Serve your quesadillas warm, alongside sour cream and salsa for dipping. The tangy dip pairs tremendously with the cheesy goodness of your creation.
