Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to ensure easy removal later.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. It should look smooth and glossy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. This is key to achieving a tremendous texture in your brownies.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies tender.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. This layer will form the base.
- In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth. You’re aiming for a creamy texture that can be spread easily.
- Spread the peanut butter layer over the brownie base in the pan. Use a spatula to ensure it covers evenly.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top of the peanut butter layer. Swirl gently with a knife to create a beautiful marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Don’t forget, a few moist crumbs are okay!
- Let the brownies cool before cutting them into squares. This will help them set perfectly.
