Peanut Butter M&M Cake

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan. This helps your cake come out easily and prevents sticking.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. This mix creates a tremendous base for the cake, ensuring a flavorful and well-balanced outcome.

  3. In another bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. The goal is to achieve a creamy consistency that will combine beautifully with the dry ingredients.

  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until combined. This step is crucial in achieving the right texture for your cake. Don’t over-mix; just combine until there are no visible dry spots. Gently fold in the 1 cup of M&Ms, adding a pop of color and sweetness.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. This ensures that the cake cooks uniformly, giving you that tremendous texture you’re aiming for.

  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Keep a close eye towards the end of the baking time to avoid overcooking.

  7. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting with chocolate frosting on top. This cooling time is essential to ensure the frosting doesn’t melt into the cake.

  8. Decorate with additional M&Ms before serving. This not only adds to the aesthetics of your cake but also enhances the flavor in each slice.
