Oven Baked Chicken Wings

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). This is an important step as you want the heat to be just right for that tremendous crispiness.

  2. Prepare the chicken wings: In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, ensuring that each wing is evenly coated. This helps the seasonings stick and gives that beautiful golden color once baked.

  3. Season the wings: Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Toss once more until the wings are well covered in the flavorful mixture.

  4. Arrange the wings: Lay the wings out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are not overcrowded, as this will help them cook evenly and achieve that tremendous crispiness.

  5. Bake the wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. Don’t forget to turn the wings halfway through to ensure even cooking and a delightful crunch on both sides.

  6. Check for doneness: The wings should be golden brown and have an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C). If they need more time, feel free to bake them for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.

  7. Serve hot: Once the wings are perfectly crispy and cooked through, remove them from the oven. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for an added touch of color and flavor.
