Onion Soup Meatloaf with Balsamic Glaze

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial, as a properly heated oven will ensure even cooking of your tremendous meatloaf.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, onion soup mix, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and milk. Use your hands to mix until fully combined; you’ll want to be thorough but gentle to maintain that tender meatloaf texture.

  3. Once mixed thoroughly, shape the mixture into a loaf form. Place this mold in a baking dish that is large enough to hold the meatloaf comfortably.

  4. In a separate bowl, prepare the glaze by mixing together the ketchup, balsamic vinegar, and brown sugar. The combination of these ingredients offers a tremendous depth of flavor that will enhance your meatloaf.

  5. Pour half of the glaze over the meatloaf. Make sure it spreads evenly to give the top a beautiful glossy finish as it bakes.

  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour. During this time, baste the meatloaf occasionally with the remaining glaze to amplify the flavor and keep it moist.

  7. After an hour, check the internal temperature of the meatloaf. It should reach a safe 160°F (70°C). If it needs more time, keep baking and check again.

  8. Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute, making for a more succulent slice.

  9. Slice the meatloaf and serve warm, perhaps with a side of mashed potatoes or a vibrant green salad, for a tremendous meal experience.
