Old Time Oven Peach Cobbler

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This sets a solid foundation for a beautifully baked cobbler.

  2. In a bowl, mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. This blend enhances the peaches’ natural sweetness dramatically. Spread this mixture evenly in a baking dish, ensuring every bite has that tremendous peach flavor.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and milk until smooth. Achieving a lump-free batter is crucial for that perfect texture.

  4. Pour the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish. This step creates a delightful surprise as the batter rises during baking, forming a delicious crust.

  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top. The butter will enrich the cobbler with a tremendous depth of flavor as it bakes.

  6. Bake for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean. At this point, your kitchen will be filled with a heavenly aroma.

  7. Let it cool slightly before serving. This cooling period allows the flavors to set, making each bite even better.
