Mixed Berry Trifle

Directions

  1. Begin by whipping the heavy cream in a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment. Whip until soft peaks form, which will take about 3 to 5 minutes. Once soft peaks are reached, add the powdered sugar. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form; this will take another 2 minutes. The whipped cream will have a tremendous texture that is both light and airy.

  2. Next, select a beautiful trifle dish or glass bowl to showcase your dessert. Layer half of the cubed angel food cake at the bottom of the dish. This forms a soft and spongy base that will absorb flavors beautifully.

  3. Now, spread half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the layer of cake. The puddingโ€™s creamy consistency will provide a tremendous contrast to the cake beneath it.

  4. Follow this with half of the mixed berries. Distribute them evenly, allowing their vibrant colors to shine through. The berries will add a burst of freshness, making each bite exciting.

  5. Repeat the layers by adding the remaining angel food cake, then the rest of the vanilla pudding, and finalize with the rest of the mixed berries. This would create a wonderful visual effect, making your trifle stunning to look at.

  6. Finish off your Mixed Berry Trifle by topping it with the whipped cream you prepared earlier. Spread it lovingly over the top layer, creating a cloud-like appearance.

  7. For the finishing touch, garnish the trifle with additional mixed berries. They not only enhance the trifle’s appearance but also add an inviting aroma.

  8. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld together and the cake to soak up the delicious juices from the berries and pudding.
