Mango Strawberry Sorbet

Directions

  1. Start by peeling the ripe mangoes. Carefully dice them into small, manageable pieces. You’ll aim for about 2 cups of diced mango. This will serve as the heart of your sorbet.

  2. Next, hulled and slice the fresh strawberries. You want about 2 cups of strawberries to provide that irresistible tart bite. The combination of these two fruits will create the tremendous flavor profile.

  3. In a blender or food processor, combine the diced mangoes, sliced strawberries, sugar, water, and lime juice if you’ve chosen to incorporate it. Blend the mixture until it transforms into a smooth, creamy texture.

  4. After blending, taste the mixture. This step is crucial! Adjust the sweetness or lime juice as necessary, then give it another brief blend to mix any adjustments.

  5. Pour the fruit mixture into a shallow freezer-safe dish. To prevent ice crystals from forming, cover it tightly with an airtight lid or plastic wrap.

  6. Place the dish in the freezer and allow it to freeze for 4-6 hours, or until it becomes solid. For the best texture, stir the mixture every couple of hours to break up ice crystals that will form during freezing.
