Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Make sure to cover all corners for the best results.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth and well combined. This mixture should be glossy, indicating the sugar is fully incorporated.
-
Add the eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the bowl. Mix well until the ingredients come together into a tremendous, creamy batter.
-
In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Use a whisk to ensure there are no lumps and everything is evenly mixed.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Overmixing can create a dense texture, so be careful.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula, ensuring an even bake.
-
Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Watch carefully; you want a slight golden edge, but not overdone.
-
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Once cool, dust with powdered sugar before serving to add an elegant finish.
