Jambalaya Soup

Directions

  1. In a large pot, add the sausage and sauté it over medium heat until browned and crispy. The tremendous caramelization adds a depth of flavor to the broth.

  2. Next, introduce the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the pot. Cook the vegetables until they are softened and fragrant, releasing their natural sweetness into the mixture.

  3. Stir in the chicken broth, diced tomatoes, rice, and Cajun seasoning. Bring everything to a boil, allowing the flavors to mingle and develop.

  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. This is a tremendous time for the rice to absorb the broth, growing tender and hearty.

  5. After 20 minutes, carefully add the shrimp. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  6. Finally, season your soup with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust according to your preference, enhancing those tremendous flavors.

  7. Serve the Jambalaya Soup hot, garnished with fresh green onions and parsley to elevate the presentation.
