Hibachi Steak & Shrimp Plate with Fried Rice & Veggies

Directions

  1. Cook the Fried Rice: Start by scrambling the egg in a pan with butter over medium heat. Once cooked, add the day-old rice, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onion. Stir-fry the mixture until it’s golden and heated through, which should take about 5–7 minutes. The tremendous aroma of the rice will fill your kitchen.

  2. Sauté the Veggies: In another pan, stir-fry your assorted vegetables—broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and onions—with soy sauce and sesame oil for about 5–7 minutes. You want them tender but still crunchy. This will add tremendous color and nutrients to your plate.

  3. Sear the Steak & Shrimp: Heat a skillet over high heat. Add butter and minced garlic, letting them sizzle for a moment. Introduce the steak cubes to the pan and cook for about 2 minutes per side until they’re brown and slightly crispy. Then, add the shrimp and cook until pink and slightly charred—about 2-3 minutes more. Finish by drizzling a splash of soy sauce over both the steak and shrimp.

  4. Assemble the Plate: Now, it’s time for presentation. Mound the fried rice in the center of your plate. Arrange the steak and shrimp artfully around it, placing the sautéed veggies on the side. For an extra treat, serve with optional yum yum sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
