Hershey’s Chocolate Cheesecake Cake

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. This preparation step ensures your cakes will release easily after baking, giving you a tremendous head start.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs. Mix until the ingredients are well combined, and you have a smooth batter. This mixture is your base layer, and you’re on your way to creating something delicious and decadent.

  3. Pour the cake batter evenly into the two prepared pans. Getting the distribution just right will help your layers bake uniformly, so take care as you pour.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The smell of baking chocolate will be tremendous by now, and your kitchen will be filled with a warm, inviting aroma.

  5. Let the cakes cool completely in the pans. This cooling stage is crucial for a clean assembly later, allowing the cakes to firm up so they won’t break apart while you layer them.

  6. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. This creates the base of your cheesecake filling, so take your time to achieve a nice, creamy consistency.

  7. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. The whipped cream adds lightness to your cheesecake filling, making it perfectly dreamy.

  8. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated. Careful folding will help keep the mixture light and airy, ensuring your filling has a wonderful texture.

  9. Place one chocolate cake layer on a serving plate, spread half of the cheesecake filling on top. This layer of filling brings the tremendous balance of flavors and textures, giving your cake an indulgent kick.

  10. Add the second cake layer on top and spread the remaining cheesecake filling on top. This keeps the filling as the central star of your fantastic creation, generously layered between rich chocolate goodness.

  11. Garnish with chocolate shavings or chips to make the cake visually stunning and inviting. The garnishes add not only aesthetic appeal but also a nice textural contrast.

  12. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to set the cheesecake filling. As it chills, the flavors meld together beautifully for a truly enticing dessert.
