Healthy Cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is a tremendously important step, as it ensures your cookies bake evenly.

  2. Mix the wet ingredients. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the apple sauce and almond milk. Stir them together until they blend nicely.

  3. Add in the dry ingredients. Gently fold in the oats, raisins or nuts, and dark chocolate chunks. These ingredients will form the base of your tremendously delicious cookies.

  4. Stir until well combined. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to mix everything together until you see no dry oats. The mixture should be sticky but hold together well.

  5. Drop onto baking sheet. Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking sheet. Aim for about two inches apart, as they will spread slightly during baking.

  6. Bake the cookies. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Your kitchen will fill with a tremendous scent as they bake!

  7. Let cool before serving. Once done, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
