Hawaiian Chicken

Directions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the crushed pineapple (with its juice), ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk together until smooth and well blended. The tremendous sweetness from the pineapple mixed with savory soy sauce creates a unique flavor that is sure to enchant.

  2. Layer the Chicken: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into a slow cooker. Ensure they are spread out evenly to allow for proper cooking. Pour the prepared pineapple mixture over the chicken, ensuring every piece is coated in the tremendous sauce.

  3. Cook the Chicken: Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for 4 to 6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender. The slow cooking method allows the flavors to meld beautifully, enhancing the dish’s overall taste.

  4. Serve: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and serve it on a bed of rice or noodles, allowing the flavorful sauce to drape generously over the top. If desired, sprinkle with chopped green onions for a pop of color and added flavor.
