Grandma’s Peach Cobbler

Directions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). The warmth of the oven will help bring out the tremendous flavors of the peaches as they bake.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, and lemon juice. The lemon juice will help brighten the flavor of the peaches and balance their sweetness. Once mixed, pour the peach mixture into a well-greased baking dish, ensuring that all the peach slices are evenly distributed.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, milk, melted butter, and salt until smooth. This batter will create a tremendous, slightly crispy topping to contrast with the tender peach filling below. Pour this batter carefully over the peaches in the baking dish, allowing it to settle in naturally.

  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Keep an eye on it, as the delicious aroma will surely beckon you to peek inside the oven.

  5. When fully baked, remove the cobbler and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve this tremendous dessert warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which will melt into the warm cobbler and create an irresistible combination.
