Grandma’s Goulash

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. This step is crucial for developing flavor in the dish. Drain the excess fat to prevent the goulash from becoming greasy.

  2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onions become translucent, stirring frequently. This will add a tremendous depth of flavor to the mixture.

  3. Stir in the salt, celery salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Then, pour in the tomato juice and water. Mix everything well to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed.

  4. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, add the macaroni noodles and the beef bouillon cubes. The bouillon will enrich the broth, providing a much more tremendous depth of taste.

  5. Reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes. This will allow the macaroni to cook through and absorb the flavors of the broth.

  6. After cooking, check the tenderness of the macaroni. Season with a dash of pepper and garnish with chopped green onions for added freshness before serving.
