Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). It’s crucial to ensure your oven is at the right temperature to achieve the perfect cookie texture.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. This step creates a tremendous base by incorporating air into the mixture, making the cookies light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Mixing well after each addition helps to emulsify the ingredients.

  4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Make sure they are well combined. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Overmixing at this stage can lead to tougher cookies.

  5. Stir in the chocolate chips. The mere sight of that gooey chocolate is enough to get your taste buds tingling.

  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. This ensures they have room to spread while baking.

  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. The baking time may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on them. You want them slightly underbaked for that gooey consistency.

  8. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. This step allows them to firm up while still retaining their deliciously gooey center.
