Glazed Apple Fritter Bread

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan. This step is essential for preventing the bread from sticking, allowing it to release easily once baked.

  2. In a bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, flour, and apple pie spice blend. Toss these ingredients together gently until the apples are well-coated. Set this mixture aside as it will provide a tremendous flavor boost to your bread.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. These dry ingredients will help create a soft and fluffy base for our bread.

  4. In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This process introduces air into the mixture, resulting in a wonderful texture. Next, add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. This method ensures that the batter remains tender, as it prevents overmixing, which can lead to a dense bread.

  6. Fold in the apple filling mixture gently, making sure to distribute the apples evenly throughout the batter. The apple chunks should be a delightful surprise in every slice of your tremendous bread.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Keep an eye on your bread as it bakes—the aroma will be simply irresistible!

  8. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and heavy cream in a small bowl until smooth and creamy. This glaze will add an extra layer of sweetness and visual appeal to your bread.

  9. Once the bread has cooled for a few minutes, drizzle the glaze generously over the top. Let it set for just a moment, and then slice into your Glazed Apple Fritter Bread. Enjoy the warmth and comfort it offers!
