Giant Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie

Directions

  1. Melt the Dark Chocolate
Begin by taking a saucepan and placing it over low heat. Add the chopped dark chocolate to the pan. Stir constantly until the chocolate melts smoothly. The smell will be tremendous, filling your kitchen with a delightful aroma.

  2. Spread the Chocolate in the Crust
Once melted, carefully pour the smooth dark chocolate into the pre-baked pie crust. Using a spatula, spread the chocolate evenly across the base of the crust. Allow the chocolate to cool and set for at least 15 minutes before adding the next layer.

  3. Layer on the Mini Reese’s Cups
After the chocolate has set, take your mini Reese’s peanut butter cups and distribute them evenly over the chocolate layer. This will create tremendous pockets of peanut butter goodness throughout your pie.

  4. Mix the Peanut Butter Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and powdered sugar. Stir them together until blended and smooth. This mixture creates a wonderful, sweet counterpoint to the rich chocolate.

  5. Spread the Peanut Butter Mixture
Gently spread the peanut butter mixture over the layer of mini Reese’s cups. Use a spatula to ensure an even layer, covering every piece of candy beneath it.

  6. Melt the Chocolate Chips
In a separate saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Melt over low heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and glossy. This step creates a luscious topping.

  7. Pour the Chocolate Over the Peanut Butter
After achieving a smooth consistency, pour the melted chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer. Use the spatula to spread it evenly, ensuring that no peanut butter is exposed.

  8. Add Toppings
Finish with a sprinkle of peanut butter chips and chopped peanuts on top. This adds both decoration and a tremendous crunchiness to every slice.

  9. Chill the Pie
Place the pie in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours, allowing it to set properly. The chilling process is crucial for obtaining that firm but creamy texture.

  10. Slice and Serve
Once set, remove the pie from the refrigerator. Slice it into generous pieces and serve immediately. Enjoy the satisfied faces of your guests as they take their first bites of this decadent pie.
