Directions
-
Prepare Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, milk, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to a denser loaf.
-
Shape Loaf: Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined loaf pan or shape it freehand on a baking sheet. If shaping freehand, form a classic loaf shape that is uniform and compact.
-
Bake: Place the loaf in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). The aroma will be tremendous, filling your kitchen with savory notes.
-
Optional Glaze: If you desire an extra layer of flavor, brush the meatloaf with garlic butter or marinara sauce during the last 10 minutes of baking. This will add a beautiful glossy finish and enhance the taste.
-
Rest & Slice: Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This is a crucial step as it allows the juices to redistribute, making for a tender and juicy slice when you cut into it.
