Directions
-
Begin by heating the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. The combination will create a tremendous depth of flavor for your chicken.
-
While waiting for the oil to heat, season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper to enhance their natural taste. Once the skillet is ready, add the chicken. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden and cooked through. It should reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
-
After cooking, carefully remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist and tender.
-
With the chicken resting, turn your attention back to the skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté them for about 5-7 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the garlic is fragrant. The tremendous aroma will surely elevate your anticipation!
-
Once the mushrooms and garlic have sautéed to perfection, return the chicken to the skillet. Stack the sautéed mushrooms lavishly atop each chicken breast and generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
-
To melt the cheese beautifully, cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes. The heat will make the cheese ooze and bubble, creating a mouth-watering allure.
-
Before serving, garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley. This adds a touch of color and a burst of freshness that complements the richness of the chicken.
