Directions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). It’s essential to start with a hot oven to ensure that your crab bombs cook evenly and achieve that tremendous golden color.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and garlic powder. Mix gently to combine without breaking up the crab too much. It’s important to keep the chunks of crab intact for that wonderful texture.
-
Next, form the mixture into small balls or ‘bombs.’ Aim for about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. This size is perfect for popping into your mouth in one go.
-
In a separate bowl, combine your breadcrumbs with melted butter until they are evenly coated. This mixture will give your crab bombs that tremendous crunch on the outside.
-
Place the crab bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they have enough space between them to allow for even browning.
-
Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture generously on top of each crab bomb. Press down slightly to ensure it adheres.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
-
Serve warm, perfect for sharing as an appetizer. Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color and extra flavor.
