Directions
-
Start by shredding the green cabbage, grating or julienning the carrots, mincing the garlic and ginger, and chopping the green onions. Prepare these ingredients ahead of time for a smoother cooking process.
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Aim for about 5-7 minutes until the meat is browned and cooked through. If there’s excess fat, you may drain it off, but keep in mind that a little fat can add tremendous flavor.
-
Once the meat is ready, add the minced garlic and ginger into the skillet. Stir frequently for about 1-2 minutes or until the mixture becomes fragrant. This is where your kitchen will start to smell delicious!
-
Now, mix in the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine everything, ensuring that the vegetables are evenly coated. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still slightly crunchy, maintaining a tremendous texture.
-
Finally, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat. Toss in the chopped green onions and give it a final stir. Serve immediately while it’s hot and fresh!
