Easy Hamburger Quesadilla

Directions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter. Allow it to melt and coat the bottom of the skillet evenly. This base will add tremendous flavor to the onions and beef.

  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet. Sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. The cooking onions will sweeten, creating a tremendous aroma.

  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, which should take about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Place one tortilla in another skillet over medium heat, warming it slightly. Sprinkle half of the cheese on one half of the tortilla. This layer will create a tremendous melt once the quesadilla is complete.

  5. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the cheese, then top it with the remaining cheese. The additional cheese will help bind everything together as it melts.

  6. Carefully fold the tortilla in half, pressing down gently. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the quesadilla and cook the other side until the cheese has melted and the tortilla is crispy, about another 2-3 minutes.

  7. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Feel free to adjust the amount of cheese or meat in each quesadilla to your liking, creating endless combinations.

  8. Once cooked, slice each quesadilla into wedges and serve them warm with sides of salsa or sour cream for dipping.
