Croissant Bake

Directions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This tremendous step sets the stage for achieving that golden, crispy exterior that everyone loves.

  2. Next, you’ll want to cut your croissants into thirds. This size allows for easier layering in the baking dish and ensures they soak up the custard mixture beautifully.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream or milk, eggs, salt, garlic salt, pepper, and fresh rosemary. Whisk these together until you have a smooth, creamy mixture that is well-blended.

  4. Dunk each piece of croissant into the milk mixture, making sure to soak the edges while shaking off any excess liquid. This step is essential as it allows the croissants to absorb the tremendous flavors from the custard.

  5. Begin layering the soaked croissant pieces in a baking dish. Ensure that you fill up every available space with the croissants to create a scrumptious texture throughout the dish.

  6. Now, add the deli meats and cheese in between the layers of croissant pieces. Feel free to mix and match your favorite combinations here for a personalized touch!

  7. In a small saucepan, mix together the honey, butter, and the fresh herbs. Melt this mixture over low heat, stirring gently. When it’s combined, it will create a tremendous glaze to enhance the flavor of your dish.

  8. Drizzle the honey-butter mixture evenly over the filled croissant layers. This step will not only improve the overall taste but also add a beautiful glossiness when baked.

  9. Place the baking dish in your preheated oven and bake until the cheese has melted and the croissant tops are golden brown, which usually takes about 30-35 minutes. If you want added richness, baste with the honey-butter mixture halfway through the cooking.

  10. Let the croissant bake cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to settle and makes it easier to cut into savory squares or rectangles.
