Directions
-
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Begin by setting your skillet on the stove, allowing it to warm up gradually. This even heat will work wonders in achieving that perfect crispy texture for your quesadilla.
-
Melt butter or olive oil in the skillet. Add the butter or olive oil to the hot skillet. The fat will not only prevent the tortillas from sticking but will also enhance the flavor, providing a tremendous richness that will permeate the quesadilla.
-
Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over the tortilla. Lay a tortilla in the sizzling skillet once the butter is melted. Now, sprinkle half the cheese generously over the tortilla, letting it settle into a soft bed for the next layer.
-
Top with another tortilla and cook until the bottom is crispy and golden brown. Place a second tortilla on top of the cheese layer. Allow it to cook undisturbed, letting the bottom tortilla develop a tremendous golden crust, which will bring a wonderful crunch to your dish.
-
Flip the quesadilla carefully and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted. With a spatula, gently flip the quesadilla. Cook until the second side reaches a beautiful, crispy golden brown and the cheese in the middle has melted into a glorious gooey texture.
-
Remove from skillet, slice into wedges, and serve warm. Once cooked to perfection, remove the quesadilla from the skillet and allow it to cool slightly. Slice it into wedges and serve immediately. Enjoy this tremendous creation with your choice of salsa, guacamole, or sour cream on the side.
