Crispy Honey Garlic Shrimp Skewers with Tangy Lime Dip

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with the minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Let this mixture marinate for about 15–20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and create a tremendous taste profile.

  2. As the shrimp is marinating, set up your breading station. Prepare three bowls: one filled with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs. This setup is key to getting that perfect crispy layer.

  3. Once the shrimp has marinated, take each shrimp and dredge it in the flour, ensuring it is well-coated. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally, roll it in the breadcrumbs until each one is fully covered. This three-step process is what gives the shrimp that tremendous crunch.

  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. The oil should be hot enough to produce sizzling sounds when the shrimp are added. Fry the shrimp for 1–2 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy. Make sure to drain them on paper towels afterwards to remove any excess oil.

  5. Once the shrimp are cooked, thread them onto skewers. For an extra touch of flavor, lightly drizzle or brush the skewers with a mix of warm honey and a touch of soy sauce.

  6. To prepare the tangy lime dip, combine the mayo, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), fresh lime juice, lime zest, honey, and chili flakes in a small bowl. Mix well and adjust the salt to taste for a perfect balance of flavors.

  7. Arrange the crispy shrimp skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle a bit more of that honey garlic sauce on top for presentation, and serve them with the lime dip on the side.
