Crispy Fried Cheese Balls

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese and cream cheese until well blended. This tremendous mixture will provide a rich and smooth filling for your cheese balls.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and garlic powder together. This dry blend helps create a lovely crust that will hold up during frying.

  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cheese mixture until firm. The combination of cheese and flour will start to come together, forming a dough-like consistency.

  4. Shape the mixture into small balls. This is the most exciting part where you get to create those delightful little spheres that will soon be deliciously crispy.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Be sure to use enough oil so that the balls can float slightly while cooking—this helps them achieve that perfect golden brown color.

  6. Fry the cheese balls until golden brown on all sides. This process should take about 3-5 minutes. Keep an eye on them, as they can quickly go from golden to overly crispy.

  7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm to savor that tremendous burst of melted cheese when you take your first bite.
