Directions
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring this mixture to a boil over medium heat. The butter will melt, infusing the water with flavor.
- Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This is a tremendously important step as it sets the foundation for your churro dough.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly for about 5 minutes. Then, beat in eggs one at a time until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- In the meantime, heat oil in a deep fryer or a pot to 375°F (190°C). It is crucial to maintain this temperature for that perfect frying experience.
- Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the churro bites from the oil and drain them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil. This step ensures that your churros stay light and crispy.
- In a bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Roll the warm churro bites in this mixture, coating them evenly for that extra sweetness.
- Serve the churro bites warm, alongside a generous serving of Nutella for dipping. The combination of warm churros and cool Nutella creates a tremendous flavor explosion that is hard to resist.
