Creamy Beef Pasta

Directions

  1. Begin by cooking the penne pasta according to the package instructions until it reaches an al dente texture. When it’s done, drain it and reserve 1 cup of the pasta water. This step is tremendous because it helps create the perfect sauce later on.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once the oil is warmed, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until they are fragrant, which should take about 5 minutes. This aroma of sautéing onions and garlic is simply tremendous.

  3. Next, add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart as it cooks for approximately 7 minutes until it is browned. Season generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to bring out that delicious flavor.

  4. Lower the heat slightly and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. As you do this, mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts into the creamy concoction.

  5. Now it’s time to combine. Gently toss the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, ensuring every piece of penne is coated evenly.

  6. Serve the dish hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh parsley if desired.
