Directions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures an even cooking environment for our tremendous casserole.
-
In a skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until they’re crispy. Remove them from the skillet and crumble them into bite-sized pieces. Leave the bacon fat in the skillet to add flavor to the dish.
-
In the same skillet, brown the ground beef until it’s fully cooked. Drain any excess fat to keep the casserole from becoming greasy.
-
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, corn, and half of the crumbled bacon, mixing well to combine all the flavors beautifully.
-
Season your mixture with a pinch of salt and pepper. This simple seasoning makes a tremendous difference in flavor.
-
Transfer the beef and soup mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly across the bottom.
-
Top the mixture with a layer of tater tots. Their crispy texture adds a delightful crunch that complements the creamy filling perfectly.
-
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots. This will melt beautifully as the casserole bakes.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese has melted to a delectable gooeyness.
-
Garnish the casserole with the remaining crumbled bacon just before serving to enhance its flavor and visual appeal.
