Cinnamon Applesauce Muffins

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin. Ensure each cup is well greased to prevent sticking, and your muffins will slide out effortlessly after baking.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. This step is crucial, as it ensures all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed, creating a tremendous rise when baked.

  3. In another bowl, mix the applesauce, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla until well combined. The applesauce serves as the star ingredient, adding moisture and a natural sweetness to the muffins.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix—this will keep your muffins tender and fluffy, ensuring a tremendous texture.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full. This allows space for the muffins to rise without overflowing, creating beautiful, rounded tops.

  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The heavenly scent wafting through your kitchen will be a testament to their deliciousness and will have everyone eagerly awaiting their first bite.

  7. Allow to cool before serving. Patience is key here; the muffins will firm up slightly and be much easier to handle once they’ve cooled.
