Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans to ensure your cakes release easily after baking.

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. This dry mixture forms the rich base of your cake.

Next, add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix these together until everything is well combined, creating a smooth batter.

Stir in the boiling water, incorporating it well into the batter. This step provides tremendous moisture, making your cake incredibly soft. After this, fold in the sprinkles to give the funfetti effect.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The aroma that fills your kitchen will be nothing short of delightful!

Once baked, allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then carefully transfer them to wire racks so they can cool completely.

Once cooled, spread a layer of fluffy vanilla frosting between the cake layers, then add more frosting to the top and sides. If desired, add more sprinkles for a fun and festive touch to your cake.
