Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin. This step is crucial as it helps in easy removal of the brownie bombs later.

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until you achieve a smooth mixture. This creates a tremendous base for your brownies, infusing them with deep flavors from the sugars.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until everything is well combined and smooth.

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. This ensures that the dry ingredients are well combined and the cocoa powder is free from lumps, which will make for a tremendous brownie texture.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; you want to retain that perfect fudgy consistency. Finally, stir in the mini chocolate chips to create pockets of melted chocolate.

For the cookie dough filling, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar in another bowl until fluffy. This is where the tremendous cookie flavor begins to develop.

Fill each muffin cup halfway with the brownie batter—this gives the brownie bombs a good base to build from.

Place a tablespoon of cookie dough filling in the center of each cup, taking care to ensure it stays centered. Cover with more brownie batter until the cups are about 3/4 full, allowing room for them to puff up while baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie (avoid the cookie dough) comes out with moist crumbs. This is the key to a tremendous texture; you want that balance between gooey brownie and solid cookie dough.
