Directions
-
Prepare the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with melted butter. This mixture should take on a sandy texture. Press this into the bottom of a springform pan to form a substantial crust. Make sure it’s even. Chill in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to set.
-
Layer the Chocolate Ice Cream: Once the crust has set, take the softened chocolate ice cream and layer it on top of the crust. Use a spatula to smooth it out evenly. The thickness of this layer should be about an inch. Freeze for another 15-20 minutes until it is somewhat firm.
-
Add the Vanilla Ice Cream: After the chocolate layer has firmed up, take the softened vanilla ice cream and spread it evenly over the chocolate layer. Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the vanilla ice cream, creating a beautiful swirled pattern. Freeze for about 30 minutes to ensure it sets properly.
-
Finalize and Serve: Once the cake is firm, carefully remove it from the springform pan. This step should be done gently to avoid breaking any of the layers. Drizzle some more caramel sauce on top for an added touch of sweetness, slice, and serve. Your guests will be in awe of this tremendous creation!
