Choco Swiss Roll Delight

Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for achieving that tremendous rise and fluffiness in the cake. Grease a jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until they are light and fluffy. This process is important as it helps to incorporate air into the mixture, giving your roll a delicate texture.

  3. Sift the Dry Ingredients
Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. This not only helps eliminate lumps but also ensures even distribution of all ingredients.

  4. Combine the Ingredients
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Use a spatula and do this carefully to maintain the lightness of the batter.

  5. Add Wet Ingredients
Now, add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until it is smooth. This will enrich the rolling cake with flavors that are simply tremendous.

  6. Pour into the Pan
Pour the prepared batter into the lined jelly roll pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.

  7. Bake the Cake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes. The sponge should spring back when gently touched. This is the telltale sign of a perfectly baked cake.

  8. Cool and Roll
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool slightly in the pan. Dust the top with powdered sugar, then carefully roll the cake using the parchment paper to assist you. This cools the cake in a rolled shape.

  9. Make the Whipped Cream
In a clean bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. This whipped cream will serve as a dreamy filling for your Swiss roll.

  10. Unroll and Fill
Once the cake is completely cool, gently unroll it. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the surface, and then roll it back up carefully.

  11. Dress with Ganache
Pour the chocolate ganache over the rolled cake, making sure it covers all sides. Chill in the refrigerator before serving to let the flavors meld.
