Cherry Oreo Cheesecake

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). A warm oven is vital for achieving that perfectly baked cheesecake texture.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. The crust serves as a tremendous foundation, ensuring every slice provides a delightful crunch.

  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This step is crucial for avoiding lumps and creates that luxurious texture we all crave.

  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust you prepared earlier. Spread it evenly using a spatula, ensuring that every inch of the crust is covered.

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is set. The center should be a bit jiggly but not liquid. This step is where the magic happens, and the tremendous flavors meld together in the oven.

  6. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This cooling process will help prevent cracks in the surface.

  7. Once cooled, top the cheesecake with cherries. You can use fresh cherries, pitted and halved, or canned cherries, drained of their syrup.

  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. This chilling time allows the flavors to deepen and the cheesecake to firm up, giving you that perfectly sliced piece with each serving.
