Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Preparing a warm oven is the first step toward achieving that tremendous golden crust we all love.
-
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is nicely browned. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks. Once browned, drain off the excess fat to keep the filling from becoming greasy.
-
Stir in the taco seasoning and water into the beef mixture, letting it simmer for about 5 minutes. This step allows the tremendous flavors from the seasoning to fully infuse into the beef.
-
Roll out the breadstick dough on a clean, flat surface and cut it into strips about 1 inch wide. This is where the fun begins, as you prepare the base for wrapping our marvelous filling.
-
Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture onto each strip of dough. To make it even better, sprinkle some cheese and green onions on top if you choose to use them. The combination of gooey cheese with the seasoned beef is simply heavenly.
-
Roll up each breadstick from one end to the other, encasing the filling inside. This creates a tremendous little package of flavor that’s easy to enjoy.
-
Place the rolled-up breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This will allow for easy removal after baking and add a certain crispy charm.
-
Bake according to the breadstick package instructions, usually about 12-15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown. Your kitchen will be filled with delightful aromas, making the wait feel even longer!
-
Serve these delicious breadsticks warm, accompanied by sour cream or salsa for dipping. The contrast of cool and creamy sauces with the warm, cheesy breadsticks is divine!
