Cheesy Taco Breadsticks

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven. Start by preheating your oven according to the breadstick package instructions. This will ensure that your Cheesy Taco Breadsticks bake evenly and achieve that tremendous golden-brown color.

  2. Cook the ground beef. In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook it until it is browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once the beef is perfectly browned, drain any excess grease to keep the filling light.

  3. Add taco seasoning. Mix in the taco seasoning according to the package instructions. Stir well and add water as required. Simmer the seasoned beef until the mixture thickens, which will take about 3-5 minutes. This step is crucial, as it will intensify the flavors, making your breadsticks even more tremendous.

  4. Prepare the breadstick dough. Open the can of refrigerated breadstick dough. Roll it out gently on a clean surface and separate the pieces. It’s important to work gently to avoid tearing the dough.

  5. Fill the dough. Take a spoonful of the prepared taco meat and place it on each piece of dough. Top the meat with a bit of shredded cheese. The combination of beef and cheese will provide a tremendous flavor explosion as they bake.

  6. Seal the filling. Fold the dough around the filling, pinching the edges together to seal them tightly. This will keep the cheesy goodness inside while the breadsticks bake. It’s a simple yet effective technique that will prevent any mess.

  7. Brush with butter. Place the stuffed breadsticks on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter to create a beautiful golden color when baking. Then, sprinkle garlic powder and onion powder on top for that extra punch of flavor.

  8. Bake to perfection. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake according to the breadstick package instructions, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The smell will be tremendous, filling your kitchen with the aroma of spices and baked bread.

  9. Serve warm. Once baked, remove the Cheesy Taco Breadsticks from the oven. Serve them warm and provide optional toppings like sour cream, salsa, or sliced jalapeños on the side for dipping and added flavor.
