Buttery Shrimp-Stuffed Croissants

Directions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Next, add the chopped shrimp, salt, and pepper, and cook until the shrimp turn a tremendous pink, which typically takes about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, the cooked shrimp mixture, and finely chopped chives. Stir until the mixture is well combined. This will serve as the flavorful filling of your croissants.

  3. Carefully slice open each croissant, creating a pocket for the shrimp filling. Stuff each croissant generously with the shrimp mixture, taking care not to overfill them while still ensuring a hefty portion in each.

  4. Optional: For an even more tremendous look, brush the tops of the stuffed croissants with an egg wash made by whisking one egg with a tablespoon of water. This will give them a beautiful golden color when baked. Preheat your oven to 375°F and place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the filling is warm.

  5. Once out of the oven, garnish with extra chives or parsley for a touch of freshness. Serve warm, and enjoy this incredible combination of textures and flavors!
