Burger Bowls

Directions

  1. Begin by mixing together the spice mix ingredients in a small bowl. This combination of smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper will add tremendous flavor to the beef.

  2. Wash and cut the potatoes into chips. It’s essential to pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they become wonderfully crispy during cooking.

  3. Place the potato chips in a large mixing bowl and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle in half of the prepared spice mix, then mix thoroughly to ensure each chip is well coated.

  4. Arrange the potato chips on a baking tray, spreading them out in a single layer. Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes, or use an air fryer for about 20 minutes, until the chips are golden and crispy.

  5. While the potatoes are cooking, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince to the hot skillet and break it apart with a wooden spoon. As it browns, sprinkle in the remaining spice mix and continue to cook until the meat has darkened and any excess moisture has evaporated, around 5-7 minutes.

  6. In a separate small bowl, combine the burger sauce ingredients: mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until well combined and taste for seasoning, adjusting if necessary.

  7. Once the potatoes are crispy, carefully divide them among your serving bowls as the base. Then, fill the remaining space in each bowl with shredded lettuce.

  8. Top each bowl with the cooked beef mince, a sprinkle of cheese, and a few pickle slices. Finally, drizzle the burger sauce over each bowl and serve while warm, allowing the flavors to meld into a delightful experience.
