Directions
-
Begin by mixing together the spice mix ingredients in a small bowl. This combination of smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper will add tremendous flavor to the beef.
-
Wash and cut the potatoes into chips. It’s essential to pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they become wonderfully crispy during cooking.
-
Place the potato chips in a large mixing bowl and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle in half of the prepared spice mix, then mix thoroughly to ensure each chip is well coated.
-
Arrange the potato chips on a baking tray, spreading them out in a single layer. Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes, or use an air fryer for about 20 minutes, until the chips are golden and crispy.
-
While the potatoes are cooking, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince to the hot skillet and break it apart with a wooden spoon. As it browns, sprinkle in the remaining spice mix and continue to cook until the meat has darkened and any excess moisture has evaporated, around 5-7 minutes.
-
In a separate small bowl, combine the burger sauce ingredients: mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until well combined and taste for seasoning, adjusting if necessary.
-
Once the potatoes are crispy, carefully divide them among your serving bowls as the base. Then, fill the remaining space in each bowl with shredded lettuce.
-
Top each bowl with the cooked beef mince, a sprinkle of cheese, and a few pickle slices. Finally, drizzle the burger sauce over each bowl and serve while warm, allowing the flavors to meld into a delightful experience.
